“Hello, my name is Ngaere Mercer, otherwise known as The Crazy Crate Lady. During my time as a furniture maker I have worked with numerous timbers in various applications. Over the last 7 years I have focused more on recycling and up-cycling discarded timber. I use offcuts for garden stakes, saw dust and wood chips go to a local permaculture farm. I repurpose every waste product I can. Creativity and practicality are my main drivers. Pallet and crate timbers have a rustic charm of their own, each piece different from the next with juxtaposing colours, grains, knots, and ink stamps.
